kick the jukebox on: The Lumineers

If there was a song that felt like my book feels to me it would be ‘Stubborn Love’ by The Lumineers. The whole foot-stomping folk revival of late fits in really well with what I’m writing, because it’s a southern story that’s sweet, angsty and a little rusty.

Oh, but it’s fiery, too. It’s first love that carves you so deep it begins to haunt you.

In the way a song can.

I’ve played this one over and over again. When he starts to wail I can feel my heart soaring and crashing with him.

That’s what Daisy and Beau feel like.

Here’s to revising and hitting replay!
